James Walters
James Walters directs the handbell program and teaches high school history classes at RAA. He has taught here since 1985, when he was hired to direct bands and begin our handbell program. James has a Bachelor of Music degree from La Sierra University and a Master of Church Music (Handbell Emphasis) degree from Concordia University Wisconsin. He is Music Director/Organist/Handbell Director at Magnolia Presbyterian Church in Riverside, and teaches a Handbell Methods class at Concordia University Wisconsin in the summer. James lives in Redlands with his wife Susan and their cat Psycho. He is currently writing a book on the history of handbells in America.
